Hello
About me

My name is Danilo Garcia, and I am Professor of Psychology at the University of Stavanger and Associate Professor (Docent) and researcher at the University of Gothenburg. I am also co-founder and Director of the International Network for Well-Being, an international research network dedicated to well-being, health, resilience, and biopsychosocial personality research. My research focuses on personality, well-being, mental health, and human relationships in everyday life, organizations, and digital environments.
I work particularly with biopsychosocial models of personality and health, psychometric development, machine learning, quantitative semantics, and AI-based methods for understanding how people describe themselves, construct narratives, and experience relationships. A recurring theme in my research is how individuals create meaning, develop identity, and build relationships—with themselves, other people, organizations, media figures, and digital agents.
Together with international collaborators, I develop and validate psychological instruments used in research on personality, well-being, parasocial relationships, AI-mediated interaction, and mental health across different cultural contexts.
